About WineWise

WineWise was founded by Sybille Troubleyn, wine education consultant.

“My professional training began with the Bruges-based Spermali hospitality school. It was there that I first caught the bug for  wine. It led me to continue my training in Bordeaux, where I graduated with a degree in "Commerce des Vins et Spiritueux" (BTS-Montagne Saint-Emilion) and earned the "Diplôme Universitaire d'Aptitude à la Dégustation" (Université de Tallence - Bordeaux). These studies brought me into contact with  wine enthusiasts from all over the world. It was during this period that I first became acquainted with  the Wine & Spirit Education Trust.

In 1997, after working for Sopexa and Vinopres, I took a year off to explore the vineyards of the New World.   This  gave me the chance to visit several WSET^® approved program providers. Back in Belgium, I happily accepted the challenge of becoming co-founder and coordinator of the "Eigentijds Vlaams Wijninstituut" - EVW^®, the wine heart of Syntra West.  Year long contact with David Wrigley MW of the WSET in London ensured that the EVW^® became the first Belgian training centre to offer the WSET^® course programmes.”

Today, WineWise offers the WSET^® training programmes throughout Belgium both to professionals in wine and hospitality as well as to wine enthusiasts.

Winewise organises the highest level of WSET^® courses, the Diploma Course, in collaboration with Frank Smulders Wijneducatie (NL).
